Finding your purpose can take many paths, mine was long and winding and often I was stuck in between not knowing and being too cautious to take the next step. I was looking too hard. I was not letting in the things that would allow me to find and understand what my purpose was and how to live my purpose. I wanted more and was putting pressure on myself to find “the thing” I really wanted to do with my life. I was unsatisfied, frustrated, overwhelmed and continually searching for more.
I learnt to allow space in my busy life to think and to allow what was inside my mind to bubble to the surface. The next big step for me was to then trust my gut feelings and to commit to doing exactly what I wanted to do and to keep going to work through the roadblocks that came my way.
I allowed myself to dream and believe. And my life now feels incredible.
Living your life on purpose has flow. It has that feeling of doing what you love, being in exactly the right place. It’s a place of joy and excitement. Some of the feeling you’ll experience can be … empowered, connected, aligned, happy, focused, invincible, it feels as though everything has come together and it feels right. You’ll want more of this feeling.
Sometimes you’ll feel some of these feeling and not be able to articulate what it is that’s going on. But, in your heart you’ll know it’s perfect. You’ll know this is what you are meant to be doing with your life. You’ll want more. When I say you want more, it may be that you want to give more, do more; you will want more of this connection to your purpose.
If you are so busy that you keep living life on auto pilot and are not sure what your purpose is, and you feel a burning desire within you and have not made time to allow it to surface, commit to doing more of what you love, things that are just for you.
Allow yourself the space to clear your busy mind and let in thoughts about what it is you truly want. Allow the real you and your purpose to show up.
Commit to yourself to allowing the time and the space to clear your mind of the daily hustle that is your busy life to do more of the things you love, (or have not done since you were a child) or if you are not sure or have forgotten what you love, make some space to find out what it is you are looking for.
