On the 1st January 2014 I committed to taking a photo a day for 365 days and posting them on Facebook.
There are a couple of reasons for this and I would love to take a moment to share with you something about me you may not know.
As I was building my business I became stuck and didn’t know what to do next and there were a lot of tasks I had convinced myself I did not know how to do. Over a period of a few years it was evident if I did not change something I would not have a business at all. So, I worked with my mentor and it soon became evident that I was not committing to tasks and I was not following through and completing the things I said I was going to complete. Of course in my case the two are closely linked.
I spent much time reflecting and it became clear that I was this way in many areas of my life. You see, how we live life, how we play games and how we behave when we are playing on and in our hobbies is the very same way we behave in business.
No wonder my business was not moving in the right direction!!!
I was quick to do the next bright shiny thing, and not so good at following through and completing what I started. Distractions are often a way of deflecting the real work we much do in our business.
I did change my ways last year and my business grew exceptionally quickly. I moved from STUCK to STANDOUT …
So, I decided that now I was committing and following through I would take my hobby and love of photography and share it with the world for 365 days.
So far so good!! I am taking photos everyday and sharing. Easy!!
There was method in what I have been doing and that was yet another way of proving to myself that I can commit and I can follow through.
P.S. the photo above is #139 – The Four Mile Beach Port Douglas … one of my favourites.
Please leave a message below and share with me about your experiences in committing and following through …
