I was listening to an interview by an Australian cyclist at the Olympics and she mentioned that a very large percentage of the audience were there to encourage the GB team. They were loud, really load and instead of this being a distraction, she decided to imagine that the whole crowd was there for her. She was going to ride her race imagining the crowd was barracking for her.
She was able to focus on her ride and not be distracted by an audience that was not there for her.
You can choose the meaning you give anything in your life. You can choose to focus on the positives.
Napoleon Hill writes about the subconscious mind, “positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate. Form the habit of applying and using the positive emotions! Eventually, they will dominate your mind so completely, that the negatives cannot enter it”.
Apply this positive emotion and positive meaning to any situation where you are feeling nervous or anxious and you will notice that you will feel more confident.
So, take those nerves and negative emotions and adrenaline and use it to your advantage. Turn it into positive thoughts and energy so you will be able to give your audience even more than they expected. Give them your passion and your energy so they see the very best version of you!
