What sort of creative are you thinking of?
To run a successful business you must be able to stand out in a crowd and be confident enough to market yourself. I believe these are two areas in which you can be creative.
If you think you’re not the creative type, think back to when you were a child and were asked to draw. (at school) I don’t know about you, but I was not a great artist, everything was a little pear-shaped for me, even stick figures!! But I gave it a go, because we all did. What I drew might not have been the best in my eyes, but I was being creative. I was better at other things though and would much prefer attending a science class looking at the moon and stars, or swimming, or going on a geography excursion – probably because it was outdoors!
What I do know now is that we are all good at something. You will be good at something. It could be writing, taking photos, speaking, networking, style, drawing, technical stuff, spreadsheets, branding, sharing stories, calligraphy or any number of other things.
Think about the things you love and enjoy doing and how you can bring more of that into your business and your life. If you are good at sketching or taking photos, think about how you can include more of that into branding you and your business on social media. You don’t have to be the best in the world at this, step into a creative space and your creativity and go for it. Take time. Play.
This will do two things, It will make you happier because you’ll be doing more of what you love, and you will stand out more because this will be your point of difference. No one else will be doing exactly what you are doing. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing; focus on what makes you deliriously happy and do more of that.
I’ve often said, you are your point of difference. It is true. Not everyone understands this and uses it to their advantage. If you were to include even more of what you love and what you are good at, you will stand out, lift your business and bring more happiness into your life.
Create. Inspire. Bring more of you to life.
