About 7 years ago when I was starting out in my business I noticed many of my clients and women I spoke with were complicating things that they were doing to build their business.
They were making it harder than it needs to be because they were not being themselves. This behavior was not a stand out for me, as I was in a very similar situation because I had come out of a corporate management position and doubted myself, didn’t appreciate how much I knew, did not know how I would be good enough for people to want to work with me, and I was very confused about how I had to behave and look in starting out on my own.
Much of the confusion can be that we compare ourselves to others, which was the case for me. I worked with mentors and educated myself more about human behavior and many things started coming together. Then from what I had learnt I could share more with my clients who were also struggling.
I’ve learnt if you are being true to yourself, aligned with your values, living on purpose, able to love yourself, and working toward your dreams instead of comparing yourself to others, you will have a deeper level of happiness, satisfaction and success. (what ever success is for you)
Trying to be someone else, perhaps someone you are comparing yourself with, or settling for something you don’t really want because it is the easy option, or settling for less than you really want in your heart, will hold you back to the point that you don’t love yourself. You are not being true to who you really are and really want to be.
It can take courage and often you will need to be exceptionally brave to step up and let the world know who you are and what your dreams are. Sometimes you will fail. Sometimes things won’t work out the way you imagine. The work will be hard, and there will be a lot of it. However because you are following your passion and your dreams and your purpose, it will feel right for you. You will have more of a tunnel vision about where you are going and less will creep into your line of sight from others and what they are doing. There will be less distraction because you will not be comparing yourself. You will be you.
Allowing yourself to be seen for exactly who you are, the authentic you, will allow you to not be fighting against that voice inside you, that voice that keeps telling you the negatives you really don’t want to hear, and ultimately holding you back.
You are perfect exactly how you are.
Your dreams are your dreams and worth pursuing.
You deserve to love yourself.
Be yourself and stand out because there is only one you.
Let yourself shine and be happy.
