This is the time of year when it’s common for my clients and others to talk about their BIG GOALS for the year ahead and do the necessary planning and implement the actions to achieve those goals.
An exciting time, unless you are stressed about how to plan your workshops, seminars, presentations if this isn’t something you have worked on previously.
If you’re planning to be in the spotlight for the first time, running a Webinar, a small workshop, right up to presenting a seminar for hundreds of people for 2 or 3 days you must have a plan.
The best advise I can offer to you right now to get you started is to plan every detail and gradually work through the detail in small chunks.
Set the date:
This is the first step then work backwards from there until now.
Set up an excel spreadsheet or similar and run a timeline by the week until your event.
List everything you must plan prior to the event such as –
Researching and book the venue
Printing /business cards / brochures / workbooks
Equipment and Setup
Some tasks can be broken down into smaller chunks. Have the spreadsheet within view each day, or write the tasks into your diary or set an alarm in your phone as a reminder to start the task. Work though each task according to the date and time.
The only thing you have to remember is to look at your timeline or diary.
Planning exactly what has to be done at a given time is an efficient and effective way of using your time and working through a larger task without the stress of remembering what has to be done.
Enjoy your time in the spotlight!
