This morning as I walked around Melbourne on my morning walk, I took a different path. Most days I follow a similar path along the Yarra River, generally in the same direction looking at the same view. I enjoy the activity along the river and surrounds and I’m in the habit of noticing little things along the way that I photograph. I guess you could call it a routine, but if you know what I mean, it does not seem routine.
This morning is misty and overcast and I hesitated before walking out the door because I thought it might rain. I walked the usual path for some 30 minutes and then the sight of the mist covering the tallest buildings around me had me take a different path to get a better view to take my morning photos.
I instantly realised that by taking a slightly different path a whole new world opened up to me. Beautiful flowers, garden beds I had never seen, a different perspective of the buildings around me and most of all a fresh new look at the world!
This is true with anything in life. Take a different path and possibilities you may not have imagined open up for you. Ask yourself the question – Am I stuck in the day to day routine? Can I see the new possibilities all around me?
Take a different path today. Step out of your comfort zone and make some changes that you may not usually consider.
Notice the difference!
